Solid Gear was one of the first shoe developer that wanted to use the INFINITY technology in safety shoes as the technology enables a high energy return during a long period of time. While other soles lose their function to recover over time, the INFINITY technology keeps on delivering.

Four models of our safety shoes use the INFINITY technology so far; REVOLUTION INFINITY, STAR CAMO INFINITY GTX, STAR CAMO INFINITY GTX MID and the latest addition - VENT. They are all athletic and light-weighted safety shoes offering high breathability, waterproofness and great fit – as well as great energy return.

How the INFINITY technology works

The INFINITY technology offers higher energy return than any other material used for cushioning in the safety shoe industry. It’s also known for its lasting performance.

 

The INFINITY technology is concentrated into a midsole offering optimal cushioning and a 55% energy return when used. The sole is made of expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (E-TPU), a material prepared by exposing thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) to extreme steam pressure and heat. The treatment makes the TPU expand resulting in a new look and feel. By this, the material is infused with new qualities such as extra dampening, while still retaining the original ones.

 

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a polyurethane plastic with many properties that works well for safety shoes, including elasticity, transparency and resistance to oil, grease and abrasion. Besides footwear, TPU is used in for example power tools, belts and inflatable rafts. TPU is also a popular material found in outer cases of mobile electronic devices, such as mobile phones.

The Solid Gear STAR CAMO INFINITY GTX is available in two models, low and mid. This safety shoe is based on the Solid Gear REVOLUTION INFINITY but with the addition that it is waterproof, using the GORE-TEX® Pearl membrane. The mid model suits perfect for those working outside, demanding more protection against water. 


For extra ventilated feet on the move

Solid Gear VENT uses the BOA® technology ensuring pressure evenly across the feet and enabling the fit of your footwear to be adjusted to your preference. It also offers great breathability thanks to an upper in net mesh. VENT is the perfect choice for service and logistics workers.
